On The Issues

Where do I stand on the issues?

I support access to strong, thriving public schools across every neighborhood in Jefferson County, and believes every child deserves and education that ignites their curiosity, responds to their unique learning style, and prepares them for whatever path they pursue.

Learning happens best when educators, students, and staff feel safe and a sense of belonging.  We want to ensure that educators, students, and staff have the tools, programming, and funding in place to achieve their full potential. We are curious and want to use engagement, feedback, and data to make informed decisions in the best interests of all students.

Join me, and together we can empower our communities, lift each other up, and create safe and welcoming spaces where educators can teach and students can learn. Together we can thrive!

College and Career Pathways

There are many pathways for students to explore after high school, not just college. Jeffco students should have as much access to skilled trade programs as they do college preparedness. I will work to expand apprenticeships in skilled trades and vocational and technical training programs that put all students on a path to a good paying job and a successful career.

Less Political Bullying

Creating a welcoming environment for all families and kids is critical to building a strong school system. Students need to feel a sense of belonging at their school. Family engagement is an essential element when it comes to the wellbeing of our students and schools. I promise is to always focus on students and schools, NOT political agendas, to insure that diverse perspectives are represented and no voices are left out.

Retain and Attract High Quality Educators

We know that retaining and recruiting highly trained, qualified and licensed teachers improves education outcomes for Jeffco students. Across the country, more and more teachers are choosing to retire, take time off, or leave the profession altogether. I will make it a priority to attract and retain educators in Jeffco and keep them in the classroom to improve student growth and development.
